Responsible to: Head’s PA/Office Manager
Relationships: All members of staff, students and parentsPurpose: The role supports and provides cover for key areas of the school, including the main office, sixth form and other areas if necessary, and involves significant responsibility for first aid provision.Confidence and comfort in handling medical situations are essential. The ideal candidate will be proactive, personable, flexible with their working environment and adept at managing a variety of tasks efficiently. A commitment to professional development, including participation in training and other learning opportunities, is also required.
Duties and responsibilities Working in a bustling school environment involves regular collaboration across the school office and sixth form, with frequent interactions with students, staff, parents, and external stakeholders.Main areas of responsibility:
School Office and Sixth Form Support:
- Provide cover for school office and sixth form administrative roles including attendance.
- Assist with school communications, including newsletters, parent letters, and announcements.
- Support the coordination of school events, such as parents’ evenings, open days and school trips.
- Provide general administrative support to school staff.
- Be a contact for parents, students, and visitors, delivering outstanding customer service.
- Respond to telephone, email, and in-person enquiries in a professional and efficient manner.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure data is handled securely in line with GDPR requirements.
- Use Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Forms, and Drive) for communication, document creation, and data management.
- Act as a primary first aider for the school, responding to medical situations with confidence and care.
- Provide first aid assistance to students and staff in accordance with school policies.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents and treatments including accident reporting.
- Monitor first aid supplies, ensuring they are readily available.
- Liaise with parents, carers, and medical professionals when required.
- Participate in required training sessions, including first aid certification and safeguarding updates.
- Engage in other learning activities and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Support the implementation of new technologies, systems, or procedures within the school.
