We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Interim Year-End Accountant to join our finance team during the critical year-end close period. This position will primarily focus on supporting the fixed asset accounting process and completing balance sheet reconciliations.

Job Summary:We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Interim Year-End Accountant to join our finance team during the critical year-end close period. This position will primarily focus on supporting the fixed asset accounting process and completing balance sheet reconciliations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, particularly with fixed assets, and be able to work efficiently under tight deadlines to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial statements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fixed Asset Accounting:
- Manage and update the fixed asset register, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Process asset additions, disposals, and transfers in accordance with company policy.
- Perform depreciation calculations and update asset values as required.
- Ensure proper classification of assets and verify asset codes.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate recording of capital expenditure.
- Balance Sheet Reconciliations:
- Perform monthly and year-end balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all balances are accurately reflected.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies, providing explanations for variances.
- Review and prepare reconciliation packs for management review, ensuring all supporting documentation is in place.
- Year-End Support:
- Assist in the preparation and review of year-end financial statements.
- Ensure all balance sheet items are fully reconciled and supported by appropriate documentation.
- Support audit requirements by providing necessary schedules and explanations related to fixed assets and balance sheet items.
- Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies regarding fixed assets and balance sheet reporting.
- Assist in implementing improvements to internal controls around asset management and reconciliation processes.
Requirements:
- Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent) or finalist-level with relevant experience.
- Strong experience in accounting for fixed assets and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience in preparing year-end accounts and dealing with external auditors.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with finance and non-finance teams.
Desirable Skills:
- Previous experience in an interim or contract role within a similar environment.
- Knowledge of IFRSIFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) and UK GAAPGAAP.
- Experience with data analysis and financial reporting tools.
