We are on our way to achieving our goal to provide Outstanding support and care to children, families, carers and practitioners across Salford.

As a Child Protection Coordinator, you will work as part of a strong dedicated team to review and coordinate child protection plans. You will be responsible for chairing Initial and Review Child Protection meetings and ensuring a robust plan is put into place.

The Child Protection Coordinator will continue to monitor the effectiveness of that plan, ensuring that children's needs are met and appropriate services are in place.

The Child Protection Coordinator will collaboratively work with families, social workers, and other professionals to safeguard the welfare of vulnerable children.

The post holder will be a qualified Social Worker with at least 3 years post qualifying Social Work experience, be registered with Social Work England and have experience in safeguarding children. You will be able to display and promote Salford’s behaviours and values, whilst demonstrating enthusiasm and passion for protecting children and young people across the city.

Your role will include:

  • Chairing child protection conferences and reviews to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of child protection plans.
  • Contribute to ensuring the service is facilitating effective participation of children, young people and families and that their lived experiences are known, understood and inform plans.
  • Coordinating the involvement of all relevant professionals, agencies, and services to support child protection plans.
  • Ensuring that assessments and decisions made regarding children's welfare comply with statutory requirements and best practice.
  • Providing guidance, advice, and information to professionals involved in case management.
  • Participating in quality assurance processes to support continuous improvement within Services.

About You:

  • You will be a qualified Social Worker with 3 years’ experience.
  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Experience of safeguarding children.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and statutory guidance.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent decision-making and analytical abilities, with a focus on safeguarding children.
  • Resilience and the ability to work effectively within a demanding and fast-paced environment.
  • You will be accountable to the Team Manager.
