About Our Client

New Temporary Contract in Guildford who are seeking an experienced Project Accountant

• Prepare and maintain project financial reports, including tracking project expenses, variances, and revenue recognition.
• Develop and manage project budgets, track spending, and provide forecasts to ensure projects remain on budget.
• Monitor and control project costs by reviewing purchase orders, vendor invoices, and timesheets to ensure accuracy and proper allocation.
• Participate in the month-end close process, including reconciliations, accruals, and preparing project-related journal entries.
• Review contracts and agreements to ensure compliance with financial terms and conditions.
• Investigate and explain variances between budget and actuals, providing actionable insights to project managers.
• Work closely with project managers and teams to ensure clear communication regarding project financials and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Identify financial risks and work proactively to mitigate them while ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures.

• Experience in a similar role is preferred
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, budgeting, and financial reporting.
• Proficient in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and communicate complex financial information effectively.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Must be immediately available
• May be working towards an accountancy degree
