We are seeking a talented Teacher of PE to join a highly effective team in our successful school close to the heritage city of Bath.
At St Laurence School we regard our staff as our most important resource. Our Investors in People report noted that:
There is a strong belief that St Laurence School is a ‘great place to work’. Everyone clearly has a high level of pride in working at the school and in what is being achieved. They feel this way because of the inspirational leadership, strong teamwork, supportive management, pleasant environment and of course, the students.
The PE department consists of nine teachers (some part-time), led by the Head of PE and two further TLR holders in charge of KS3 and KS4 PE. Some members of the PE department have other commitments such as being Head of PSHE or Deputy Headteacher.
The PE department also benefits from the support of a technician.
A major strength is ensuring that our physical literacy approach suits the needs of all our students through a curriculum that is focused around ‘engagement for all’.
Since our core business is learning, we are committed to the professional development of each of our staff, whatever their role in the school. If you would like to join a committed, professional and passionate team in our journey to being a school which is outstanding in every way, please consider applying.
To apply, please refer to the Letter to Candidates, complete an application form and send it with a covering letter to Mr Tim Farrer, Headteacher. Further information can be found by visiting the school website Staff Vacancies | St Laurence School (st-laurence.com)
Successful candidates will be invited to an interview at the School on Thursday 22nd May 2025.
St Laurence School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All applicants will be subject to a Disclosure & Barring Service check before appointment is confirmed.
