An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced physiotherapist to work in Pain Management at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will be based at James Cook University Hospital but may at times be required to work in a community based setting.

You will be required to have significant post graduate clinical experience of working in pain management and specific pelvic pain management experience. You will need a high level of communication and organisational skills and the ability to work within the team.

The post holder will be working within the multidisciplinary field of Pain Management, more specifically with patients affected by chronic pelvic pain. The post will include running a Pain management programme with specific content to the management of chronic pelvic pain, and you will be required to provide one to one physiotherapy treatment where appropriate for patients with chronic pelvic pain or generalised MSK pain.

You will have key role in supporting the Advanced Practice Physiotherapist in the development of therapy services in the Pain Clinic and will be expected to work dynamically as part of the MDT.

We offer a comprehensive in service training programme and staff are encouraged and supported in their continuous professional development through workshops and clinical supervision.

Main duties of the job
  • To provide clinical leadership in Pain Clinic Therapies for pelvic pain & to develop and deliver an efficient and effective person centred service within the framework of clinical governance.
  • To assess, treat and lead the management of highly complex patients with persistent chronic pelvic pain and / or chronic musculoskeletal pain in the Therapy pain management service.
  • To assess patients referred to the Pain Clinic on behalf of the pain consultant with a specialist interest in pelvic pain.

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • • Theoretical knowledge and applied clinical practice in specialist area
  • • Demonstrates extensive knowledge and experience within specialist area
  • • Evidence of audit and research
  • • Evidence of MDT working

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • To hold a degree or relevant Diploma in Physiotherapy.
  • HCPC registration
  • Completed relevant post graduate courses.
  • • Completed or willing to work towards an MSc if available.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working in Pelvic Health / pelvic pain management at band 6 level.
  • Experience managing patients with chronic pain conditions.
  • Experience working within the NHS
