This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced PA to play a key role providing a high standard of administrative and management support to the Operations Director at Emanuel School.

Your responsibilities will include managing correspondence, diary management and travel arrangements and preparing agendas and taking minutes at meetings.

You will also be responsible for providing a high standard of administrative support to other senior school staff, including the Lettings Manager.

The role also involves line managing the Resources Officer and Reception staff.

The working hours are 8.00am – 5.00pm, Monday to Friday during term time and 9:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday during school holiday periods. This is an all-year round position, working during term time and school holidays. Occasional Saturday mornings and evenings may also be required.

To be considered for this position you will require experience of successfully providing senior PA support. This will include experience of minuting committees, proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and SharePoint, and excellent interpersonal, written and spoken communication skills.

You will also need fast accurate typing skills, strong attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritise and use your initiative in challenging situations.

The ability to effectively plan and organise projects and tasks is equally important.

Working at Emanuel

There is always a buzz at Emanuel. Colleagues enjoy their work and, like the pupils, are ambitious for the school. With a weekly staff briefing, half termly staff meetings, termly consultative group meetings and a common room committee, all of us are engaged in a lively ongoing dialogue about the school’s aims and aspirations.

Everyone works hard here, and anyone joining us should expect to do the same and share our commitment to the highest standards. At the same time our ethos remains unpretentious, kindly and practical, and there’s a strong sense of community and friendship at the school.

We aim to look after our staff well: we have an appraisal scheme with a focus on employees’ professional development; we sponsor postgraduate courses and a range of training opportunities; we offer salary sacrifice childcare vouchers through TEDS Premier, we offer a healthcare plan via Simply Health that includes counselling and medical support; and we’re committed to supporting staff wellbeing.

Financially, all staff benefit from good pension provision and free lunches.
