PS Limited are looking for a reliable, professional and flexible Support Assistant’s to work in residential care homes and the community based in and around Swindon. We need experienced Support Assistants who are willing to work on an ad hoc basis.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Providing a high quality person centred care and support service which enables and empowers service users’ to develop the skills necessary for independent living
  • Establishing professional relationships with service users’, using clear and appropriate communication, to meet their identified needs, respecting their choices and maintaining their privacy, dignity and independence at all times
  • Assisting and encouraging service users’ to maximise their access and to maintain integration into and with the wider community
  • Liaising with colleagues, internal and external agencies to promote and ensure partnership working to help service users’ access the support and assistance required in accordance with their care and support plan
  • Ensuring a safe and comfortable environment is maintained, providing appropriate support to the service users’ in maintaining their own living areas
  • Supporting and empowering service users’, and their families when required, to express their wishes and concerns appropriately and effectively
  • Encouraging and responding positively to feedback and concerns regarding services following the correct procedures to ensure that the service user’s health, wellbeing, and human rights are protected
  • Promoting self-practices and carrying out effective care and support procedures in accordance with relevant regulations, policies and procedures

Applicants require:
Essential:
  • Literacy and Numeracy equivalent to at least GCSE Grade C English and Maths
  • NVQ3 in Health & Social Care, or willing to work towards
  • Minimum 1 years paid UK experience as a Support Assistant
  • Enhanced DBS
  • Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate (including CPR)
  • Manual Handling Certificate
  • Full Right To Work in the UK
  • 2 references (must cover past 3 years)
Desirable:
  • QFC Assessor
  • Full, current driving licence (may be essential in some locations)
