We have an exciting opportunity for highly motivated Specialist Community Public Health Nurse - Health Visitors to join our 0-19 Universal Childrens Services.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated practitioner with initiative and drive who is keen to contribute to the further development of our service.

You will be given a SG supervisor, have regular 1 to 1 's an appraisals to support your learning and development in practice.

You will be supported to work agile within the locality using the central children's hub, and spoke hot desking areas in addition to home working.

Salford prides itself on its high standard of care and commitment to childrens services and this is been very apparent through the COVID epidemic and continues. The 0-19 services is seen as an essential service in supporting the health, wellbeing and safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults.

You will be expected to demonstrate effective leadership skills in being able to manage your own caseload and support junior staff members and pre-registration students within the workplace.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate a high level of communication skills and have the ability to work with clients and professionals and tailor these skills appropriately.

You will be expected to work within the multiagency arena and must have the necessary skills to challenge and question decision making. As part of this process you will be expected to contribute and formulate supportive outcomes for children and families both autonomously and in the multiagency arena.

  • SCPHN Health Visitor or due to qualify shortly

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered Midwife or Nurse on Part 1 of the NMC register

Knowledge and Experience

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of recent legislation impacting on Community Health Care and Health Visiting practice
  • Displays a good clinical knowledge which is based on research evidence
  • Demonstrate ability to work within multi-agency/professional setting
  • Effective communicator. Articulate verbally and written
