Healthcare Assistant
As a healthcare assistant you will be a valued member of the team, providing varied help to both staff and patients alike.
We are looking for someone who is proactive and engaging and is able to use initiative.
The role will entail performing observations, helping patients with personal care needs, manual handling and helping to maintain a clean, tidy and well stocked environment.
T12N caters for 13-20 year old with chronological and haematological malignancies. Treatments range from bone marrow transplant to palliative care. We also run an ambulatory service along side our day care services.
As a health care assistant on the ward, you will be expected to work alongside the nursing team to help care for the patients. You will be expected to help patients prepare for procedures and escort them there and back. You will perform observations and report your findings to the nursing team accordingly.
You will help the nursing team to create a ‘home from home’ environment on the ward by keeping it tidy and helping with the day to day tasks. You will help out within the division if other areas are short staffed. In return we will offer you the support you need to understand the care received by our patients and help you develop your skills.
