Research Assistant
Overview:
Certara accelerates medicines using proprietary biosimulation software, technology, and services to transform traditional drug discovery and development. Its clients include more than 2,000 biopharmaceutical companies, academic institutions and regulatory agencies across 62 countries.
We have an immediate opening for a Research Associate with a background in the areas of mathematical modelling and statistical analysis. Previous experience in modelling/analysing life science related data would also be advantageous.
The candidate should have experience of conducting literature searches and have the ability to critically review literature and conduct meta-analysis of collected physiological, biological and clinical data. The post holder will be expected to assist with on-going customer support, education, and training related to the use of the Simcyp Simulator and to act as tutor on the workshop programmes.
The successful candidate will join an internationally recognised, multidisciplinary research team, providing opportunities for further development of knowledge and skills. The post does not include routine laboratory or clinical work. Responsibilities:
- Assisting with the automation of the Simulator Simulation using R workflows.
- Working as part of a team to review and develop meta-analysis algorithms currently used.
- Assisting with further development and updating of the Bayesian algorithms and models within the Simulator.
- Flexibility to work on projects in areas outside of your previous experience.
- Take an active role in testing the Simulators before and after the release.
- Disseminating the outcome of research as poster/podium presentation and publications.
- Dealing with client queries both internally and externally.
- Assisting with the research and development of externally funded projects, e.g., grants and consultancy projects, as and when needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Maths or Stats discipline.
- Interest and experience in modelling and analysing data.
- Some understanding of modeling and simulation principles of physiological and biological systems.
- Hands-on experience in Physiologically Based Pharmacokinetics modelling and simulation.
- Understanding of pharmacokinetic principles.
