Participate in policy or service development both within the team and the wider environment of the national programmeParticipate in relevant Programme Centre meetings and participate in national working groupsContribute to the development and implementation of the organisational plan to ensure regular and formal quality assurance of NHS screening programmes.
Undertake service review/audit using national tools; make recommendations for service improvements and reporting outcomes from QA processes. Monitor progress of visits and other QA interventions Manage the implementation of the QA cycle from self-assessment and pre-visit preparation, including the overall management of any visit programme Undertake in depth analysis, interpretation and production of complex and multiple reportsEnsure that visits/reviews and other QA interventions are conducted by appropriate and trained reviewers according to agreed protocol and that all involved are familiar with the nationally agreed standardsAdvise national portfolio lead and national QA manager on matters relating to the specified programme/programme cluster, ensuring that where visits are undertaken, review teams provide accurate, appropriate feedback to commissioners, provider executive and programme teams on the findings of the review visit; highlighting any issues / concerns raised during the interventionLead the QA prioritisation process including the identification of appropriate QA interventionsSupport the identification and sharing of best practice in screening quality assurance to support service improvement and improve outcomes for service users Contribute or lead on the development of national QA policies as requested, either singly or in collaboration, ensuring that policies are appropriately consulted uponContribute to developing the NHS Screening Programmes by acquiring and collating information through Regional QA processes to inform policy and service developmentProvide specialist advice to Screening and Immunisation commissioning teams in implementation of new screening programmes and further development of existing programmes where appropriate Use specialist knowledge and expertise to advise local programmes and commissioners on the quality of the screening programmes and provide guidance on how to deliver high quality programmesProvide appropriate and timely specialist advice to support the investigation and management of incidents delegating to other members of the QA Team where appropriate but providing ongoing oversightEnsure that areas of underperformance and adverse QA reports are investigated and addressed, escalating referrals to appropriate authoritative bodies if required.
