Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant – Full-Time Role in Levenshulme

Teaching Personnel is seeking a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ secondary school in Levenshulme. This full-time position is available immediately and will run until the end of the academic year, with the potential to become a permanent role based on performance.

Role Overview

This is an excellent opportunity for a psychology graduate who is interested in working with young people, particularly those with additional learning needs. The role will involve supporting students both in and outside the classroom, helping to create a positive learning environment, and assisting with their academic and emotional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support to students who require additional assistance.
  • Assisting students with special educational needs (SEN), including those with autism, ADHD, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
  • Working alongside teachers to deliver engaging lessons and adapt learning materials for individual student needs.
  • Supporting the pastoral care of students by helping to manage behaviour, build confidence, and develop positive coping strategies.
  • Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
  • Assisting with classroom management, lesson preparation, and general teaching support.
  • Encouraging students to develop their independence and resilience in their learning.

Candidate Requirements:

  • A degree in Psychology (2:2 or above preferred).
  • A strong interest in working with children and young people, particularly those with additional needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work well as part of a team and show initiative when working independently.
  • Previous experience working with young people (e.g., tutoring, mentoring, youth work, or voluntary roles) is beneficial but not essential.

Salary & Benefits:

  • Weekly pay between £419.25 - £500, depending on experience and responsibilities.
