Specialist Practitioner in Safeguarding Children | Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust
We are delighted to advertise positions within the Safeguarding Children Team (full & part time).
The post holders will be a key member of the Safeguarding Children Team and work closely with the Head of Safeguarding Children and Named Professionals in delivering the Safeguarding Children Strategy and associated action plans for the Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (HHFT)
The post holder will be responsible for delivering safeguarding supervision, providing safeguarding advice and support and training.
The post holders will:- Provide one to one and group safeguarding children supervision to a defined group of staff.
- Support practitioners to identify and refer vulnerable children and young people at risk or suffering from harm to the appropriate agencies
- Provide advice and support for all staff working with complex families in complex situations involving the death or serious injury of a child.
- Ensure evidence based advice is provided to all staff requesting or requiring professional support with decision making/complex issues.
- Ensure that risk assessment are carried and that the health intervention is clearly recorded, reviewed and amended
- Support staff as required by attending a range of safeguarding children meetings including child protection conferences
- Deliver statutory and mandatory safeguarding training
- Work with the Named Nurse training lead to evaluate training and adapt provision according to feedback from participants
- The post holders will work with the Named Professionals to ensure that lessons learnt from audit and serious case reviews/case management reviews/significant case reviews are disseminated to staff and embedded to improve clinical practice.
