Job Purpose Lead the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme (5-19 years). Lead the delivery of high quality evidence based School Nursing provision to Young people and their families that promotes and improves health and addresses inequalities in health to a defined population To be named school nurse and be responsible for the development, delivery and evaluation of evidence based, quality care to the population of children/young people and their families within designated secondary schools and their feeder primary schools.

To be a role model and to facilitate a culture of learning and reflective professional practice. Address both identified health needs of the school aged population and those in the wider community to proactively prevent ill health. Adopt a public health approach working towards identified local and national targets.
Promote and build effective partnership working with other disciplines, the voluntary sector and linked organisations to ensure the local population receive optimal and appropriate care. Be the named school nurses for complex cases where there are safeguarding concerns and complex health issues, ensuring that robust assessments are undertaken, information is analysed and actions plans developed and implemented to ensure that children and young people are safeguarded.
Provide strong clinical leadership and supervision to a skill mixed geographically based corporate team, assuming responsibility for the appropriate allocation of work to ensure the effective management of a team workload.
