The governors of St John’s Catholic Primary wish to invite applications who will support and uphold the Catholic ethos of our school. With successful senior leadership experience for the post of Deputy Headteacher to join the School’s Leadership team at this well-established, successful and happy school.
St John’s Catholic Primary School is a large one and a half form entry school situated in the county town of Wiltshire, Trowbridge. This popular school was established 97 years ago by the Sisters of St John of God and is an intrinsic part of the local thriving Catholic community.The school is ambitious, welcoming, inclusive and committed to the development of every unique child.
Since September 2024 the School has embarked on an exciting chapter with a new Headteacher who is dedicated to ensure every child reaches their potential in order that they become the change makers and leaders of the future. As Deputy Headteacher, you will work alongside our new Headteacher to provide vision, strategic direction and leadership to build on our many strengths and lead our school into the future.
St John’s was judged to be Good by Ofsted at its last inspection in November 2022 and Good in the Section 48 inspection in December 2018.
We are looking for a strong, dynamic and inspirational leader who will be:
o Committed to uphold the values of Catholic education, with senior leadership experience in a Catholic school.
o Passionate, experienced and ambitious educator, with the vision to articulate clearly the role that he or she will take in further developing our Catholic school
o Highly effective teacher and leader of learning, with experience of delivering a broad, rich and varied curriculum that meets the needs of every unique child. The role involves classroom teaching for 3 days per week.
o Ability to drive forward developments in the RE curriculum and lead change to deliver the new curriculum and prayer life of the school
o Has a genuine commitment to team working and the development of all of our staff team
