Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Business Manager working for NHS Wales Employers.
Reporting to the Director, the post holder will provide full business support to the Director and Programme Managers as well as manging the administration support.
A key part of the role will be providing full secretariat support to the Welsh Social Partnership structures (where the Welsh Government, NHS Wales’s employer organisations and trade unions and professional organisations work together to improve health services for the staff in NHS Wales and the people of Wales).
We are looking for a self-motivated team player with a desire to progress their career within NHS Wales who would benefit from working at an All-Wales level. It is anticipated that the successful applicant will have or be able to quickly gain an understanding of social partnership and collective bargaining principles, experience of minute taking and providing secretariat support at a board, sub board level and a good level of digital literacy.
Main duties of the job
The Business Manager will provide full business management support to the NHS Wales Employers team. Working closely with the Director, Head of Employment Relations, Medical and Dental Contracts Manager and Job Evaluation Manager, they will coordinate the work programme of the team and support the administration of the Clinical Impact award scheme where needed.
Manage and co-ordinate the Administrator within the wider team to ensure efficient and effective deployment in order to achieve multiple competing priorities of the team.
Provide secretariat support to several forums and meetings; engage with and work in collaboration with key stakeholders and social partners; use data/research and analytical skills in the development and drafting of papers.
Review and evaluate business processes internal to the team through identifying risks and opportunities and take necessary action as necessary.
Oversee and manage matters of corporate governance on behalf of the Director.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential criteria- Educated to degree level in or equivalent level of experience in a relevant subject.
- Evidenced high level knowledge and experience in the management of business, secretarial and office procedures.
- Experience and knowledge in the use of MS Office Suite.
- Use of design software packages and web development tools.
- Understanding GDPR legislation.
Experience
Essential criteria- Experience of minute taking and providing secretarial support to a high level forum or committee.
- Experience of the use of electronic systems/databases/business critical tools.
- Experience of dealing with confidential and sensitive data and appropriate maintenance and storage of records.
- Experience of collaborative and social partnership working with other organisations or sectors.
- Working in a policy and led environment.
- Able to use MS Forms and Lists
Skills and Attributes
