Design Technology Teacher
This is a forward-thinking and inclusive school dedicated to providing an engaging and high-quality education. We are seeking a passionate Design & Technology Teacher to inspire creativity and innovation in their students through hands-on learning and problem-solving.
Duties of a Design Technology Teacher:
- Plan and deliver engaging Design & Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum.
- Teach a range of D&T disciplines, including product design, resistant materials, graphics, and/or food technology (depending on expertise).
- Encourage students to develop practical skills, creativity, and technical knowledge.
- Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback.
- Ensure the safe and effective use of tools, equipment, and machinery in the workshop.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Contribute to extracurricular activities, clubs, and school events related to D&T.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the D&T curriculum and resources.
Ideal Design Technology Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- A degree in Design & Technology, Engineering, or a related subject
- Experience teaching D&T at [primary/secondary] level (preferred but not essential)
- Strong knowledge of practical design and manufacturing techniques
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A passion for creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on learning
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children as a Design Technology Teacher
