Venn Group is proud to be partnering with a non-departmental government body to recruit an Applications Support Team Leader. This is a permanent opportunity for a skilled professional with strong technical expertise in 3rd line applications support, SQL, and SharePoint administration.
Key Responsibilities of the Applications Support Team Leader:
- Lead and manage a small team of application and systems engineers, ensuring the team’s performance aligns with organisational SLAs and KPIs
- Provide 3rd line support for business applications, addressing and resolving technical issues
- Collaborate closely with the finance team to support the existing finance application (Unit4 Agresso) and assist with migration to a Microsoft Dynamics platform
- Run SQL scripts and queries to support application maintenance and development
- Handle key HR responsibilities, including staff management, performance appraisals, and onboarding of new team members
- Engage indirectly with suppliers, with primary supplier management being handled by senior stakeholders
Essential Skills and Experience for the Application Support Team Leader:
- 3rd line applications support experience
- SQL proficiency for scripting and reporting
- SharePoint administration and setup experience
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels
- Management or leadership experience is not mandatory, but you will oversee a small team of two staff members
- Knowledge of ITIL practices (v3 or v4)
- Proven experience in using Microsoft technologies such as SharePoint, Azure, and Windows
- Experience with Service Now is not essential but would be desirable
