HOW YOU CAN HELP TO DEVELOP FUTURE GPS AND THE PRIMARY CARE WORKFORCE OF TOMORROW IN KENT, SURREY AND SUSSEX (KSS)

The Primary Care Educator Pathway Academic Clinical Lead will assist and work with the KSS Primary Care Dean, Head of School for General Practice and the Head of School for Primary Care to provide co-ordination, provision, management and promotion of postgraduate professional development activities across Kent, Surrey and Sussex.

This exciting role requires a strategic thinker with a passion for education and a commitment to enhancing the skills and knowledge of the primary care educator workforce whilst contributing to the development of specialised skills and educational resources for trainees and learners.

This will be enabled by leading Professional Development in the following areas; the KSS Educator Pathway and its faculty, current GP Educators and the growing Multi-professional Faculty to meet the needs of the future workforce.

Leading the strategic development of postgraduate professional development initiatives within the KSS Primary Care Department
  • Designing, implementing, and managing the Educator Pathway professional programme in partnership with the Heads of GP School and Head of Primary Care School
  • Providing support and guidance to KSS primary care staff, including GP Clinical and Educational Supervisors, GP tutors, training programme directors, and other educational network members
  • Contributing to the development of specialised skills and educational resources for trainees and learners

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

Staff recruited from outside the NHS will usually be appointed at the bottom of the pay band.

NHS England hold a Sponsor Licence; this means that we may be able to sponsor you providing the Home Office requirements are met. To be eligible for sponsorship through the Skilled Worker route you’ll usually need to be paid the ‘standard’ salary rate of at least £38,700 per year, or the ‘going rate’ for your job, whichever is higher.

The successful applicant will be expected to have a medical background and experience of delivering education in a primary care or community setting and remain registered with a license to practise.

Candidates will be required to prepare and deliver a 10-minute presentation if invited to interview, the subject of which will be communicated in advance.
