Practice Education Facilitator

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team of Practice Education Facilitators within Clinical Education at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, for a 10 month period to provide service continuity during maternity leave. Our dynamic PEF team ensure the provision of high quality multi-professional learning environments within the Trust and are a key interface between CCC and regional partners.You will work with the team to support a range of learners and educators across the Trust, contributing to the preparation of reports to evidence the ongoing quality of placements at CCC. You will contribute to the development of learning opportunities and educational programmes.
This Band 6 post is an excellent opportunity to develop skills and experience in an education role. You will bring an existing passion for placement education and an established reputation as a clinical role model. Your excellent communication skills, attention to detail and ability to work autonomously will be challenged and developed within this role.
Clinical Education operates across all CCC sites and hub locations. You will need to be mobile and responsive to the needs of learners and the service. We welcome applications from Healthcare Professionals registered in the UK who have a passion for quality in placement learning.
This post is also suitable for a secondment with prior agreement from applicant's manager.
Main duties of the job
Duties of this job will include:
- Assessing the quality of clinical and other practice learning environments and proposing interventions for improvement.
- Facilitating the development of clinical practice supervisors/assessors/educators and providing supervision and support structures.
- Providing on-site support and continuous professional development activities for staff and practice supervisors, assessors and educators.
- Developing and maintaining links with HEIs to support supervisors/assessors and practice education.

Person specification
Qualifications
Essential criteria- Degree or equivalent leading to registration as a healthcare professional
- Current registration as a healthcare professional
- Mentorship and/or coaching qualification or willing to undertake
- Teaching & assessing qualification or willing to work towards, or equivalent experience
Knowledge and expertise
Essential criteria- Knowledge of mentorship/supervision, education and development practice
- Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
- Knowledge of professional issues within healthcare
- Microsoft office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Developed interpersonal and negotiating skills
Experience
Essential criteria- Experience of working within a clinical environment
- Experience of co-ordinating and managing staff and patients
- Experience as a supervisor/assessor and/or have supported learning and assessment in practice
- Experience of, and commitment to, education in practice
- Experience of adapting practice to successfully work alongside individuals that may need adaptations for learning
- Facilitation of study events
- Experience of the delivery of training courses/interventions
