Allied Health Professions Support Worker
Job overview
You will work in the North Lincolnshire community learning disability team alongside the multidisciplinary team. You will work across the Allied Health Professions (AHP) Team alongside your other AHP support worker colleagues, providing high quality healthcare support, assisting in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care as designated by the Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist and Speech and Language Therapist in the team.You will provide this care under the direction of the qualified professionals within the team.
You will be community based so will be visiting service users in their own homes and other community settings.
Main duties of the job- To be actively involved in the implementation of therapy care plans assisting other members of the team in providing treatment and therapeutic interventions as necessary, including:
- Therapeutic exercise programmes
- Positional therapy
- Passive movements
- Massage and walking activities
- Skills development interventions
- Identifying meaningful activities in the local area and supporting people to access these activities
- Creating visual resources including but not limited to visual timetables, symbol books and social stories
- To edit/ update vocabulary on high tech communication aids
- Gather information for the therapist’s as required to support assessments, and contribute to developing formulations, goals and planning for the individual service users
- To accompany and assist the supervising therapist during assessment and interventions
- Use computerised clinical records for documentation
- Develop and maintain effective communication systems within the community Learning disability team and with all other agencies/disciplines

Qualifications
Essential criteria- NVQ Level 3 in Care or equivalent
- GCSE level of education
Experience
Essential criteria- Experience working in a clinical setting
- Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team
- Experience of working with people with complex needs in a caring role
