• Supporting the Finance Manager with management accounts and other ad hoc activity.
• Look after month-end transactions
• Supporting with monthly financial accounts
• Reconciliations
• Preparation of quarterly VAT returns ready for submitting
• Petty claims and expenses
• Manage Fixed Asset register
• Support with year-end and month-end reports and processes
• Support with payroll
• Managing daily accounting tasks including preparing invoices and bank deposits.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Assistant Accountant should have:

• A degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field.
• Strong knowledge of MS Excel
• Be completely comfortable with the duties of an assistant accountant (through personal experience)
• Excellent numerical skills with attention to detail.
• Strong analytical ability.
• Solid understanding of management accounts
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be a real team player
• We would be particularly interested if you come from a manufacturing industry.

• Salary ranging between £35,000 - £40,000
• 25 days annual leave.
