Compliance Manager

  • Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 per annum depending on experience
We are seeking a Compliance Manager to oversee the food safety, legality, and quality of all products manufactured on site. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a comprehensive Food Safety Quality Management System (FSQMS) and conducting regular audits.

This role involves leading on food safety plans, managing the Process Compliance Officer, and providing leadership to ensure effective delivery of their role.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Lead on customer Codes of Practice (COPs) and 3rd Party Standards, staying informed of all changes and conducting gap analysis.
  • Prepare for audits, manage the site’s internal audit plan, and coordinate the NCR database system.
  • Partner with department managers to implement changes or corrective actions and support improvements to FSQMS.
  • Manage site barrier risk assessment and allergen and species validation schedule.
  • Actively participate in HACCP team activities and update site policies and procedures as required.
  • Manage and develop team members, supporting the site’s succession planning, and handle all ER-related issues for the team.
  • Lead the implementation of technical strategy and food safety and quality culture plan, support continuous improvement plans, and lead strategic projects as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Level 3 Food Safety (Advanced) and Level 3 H&S (Advanced) qualifications.
  • Food-related BSc qualification or a minimum of 5 years industry experience.
  • Level 3 HACCP, Foundation TACCP, Level 3 Listeria, and Allergen Management qualifications.
  • Minimum of 7 years relevant food manufacturing experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with VISO or equivalent.
  • Recognised Internal/3rd Party Audit training.
  • Strong management skills and competencies in communication, analytical thinking, problem-solving, planning & organisation, flexibility, and team leadership.
