SEN Tutor
SEND Specialist Tutor - 1:1 Support, Solihull
We need a dedicated SEND Specialist Tutors to provide personalised 1:1 tuition to young people with SEND who are currently unable to access mainstream education.
We are looking for inspirational tutors in the Solihull area to support children and young people with special educational needs. Many of these pupils have faced barriers to their learning, whether due to anxiety, disengagement, or insufficient support in traditional school settings.
As a SEND Specialist Tutor, you will:- Design and deliver bespoke, tailored lessons to bridge gaps in the pupil's education.
- Focus on improving attainment and fostering re-engagement with learning.
- Provide structure, routine, and support to help pupils progress both academically and personally.
- Work towards reintegrating pupils into mainstream or specialist education.
- Location: Various locations across Solihull
- Position: SEND Specialist Tutor
- Start Date: ASAP
- Duration: Until the pupil is ready to return to mainstream or specialist education
- Contract Type: Temporary
- Hours: Part-time (minimum 10 hours per week per student)
- Pay: £25 per hour (negotiable)
- Schedule: Flexible hours to suit the family's needs
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- UK classroom teaching experience
- PECS/Makaton training (desirable but not essential)
- A creative, patient approach with a willingness to think outside the box
- Experience supporting pupils with challenging behaviour and disengagement
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS check (child barred list) on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
- Two professional child-related references
