Sales Executive - Special Events

Role Purpose:
The Sales Executive is responsible for supporting the Special Events team with reactive sales and administrative duties.
You must be able to work collaboratively with the Business Development Manager and Director of Sales to support with the conversion of enquiries and achievement of the budgeted revenue from this segment.
The Special Events Sales Executive must have a desire to learn the culture and business practices of the UK’s largest and newest, indoor arena in Manchester.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to reactive event enquiries from agents/ direct corporate clients via email, phone and 3^rd party agency sites
- Qualify event leads by understanding customer needs, ensuring you recommend the appropriate features and availability of the arena
- Create event proposals based on client requirements, conducts regular follow-up calls to identify changing event needs, convert enquiries into confirmed bookings, issue contracts
- Track enquiries into the venue CRM system
- Conduct show-rounds for existing bookings and for new clients
- Effectively sell according to the business and operational strategy of an entertainment arena
- Update venue profile across all 3^rd party event agency sites
- Communicate effectively with both clients and internal colleagues in order to maximise revenue
- Attend trade shows & exhibitions/ networking events when required
- Confidently and accurately report sales data via weekly reports and in-person meetings with the entire Sales team if and when needed
- Support Business Development Manager with sales projects and tasks- including reporting, data entry, industry research
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
We would really like to hear from you, should you have the following experience –- A background in customer service/ venue sales role
- Adaptable to change and evolving processes
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding venue sales environment
- Good with administration, processes, and a high level of attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent level of written and spoken English
- Professional and engaging personality
- Confidence & professionalism when interacting with high profile guests
- Flexibility to work occasional weekends and evenings
Preferred but not essential:
- Have previously worked with a CRM system – specifically Microsoft Dynamics
- Knowledge of a music arena and its diary management
- Have a black book of events contacts within Manchester
