Your Role in Shaping Our Future

We are searching for an exceptional Compliance Officer to join our dynamic team. Reporting directly to the Head of Risk and Compliance, You will have the unique opportunity to ensure Carmoola adheres to all regulatory and legal requirements, developing and maintaining compliance frameworks that support responsible business practices.

What You’ll Do

As Compliance Officer, your expertise will help shape our compliance framework, ensuring we continue to deliver responsible and innovative financial solutions.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Financial Promotions – Review and approve marketing materials to ensure they are clear, fair, and not misleading, while staying compliant with FCA guidelines.
  • Consumer Duty Monitoring – Oversee the continuous embedding and monitoring of Consumer Duty requirements, ensuring we consistently deliver good outcomes for customers.
  • Anti-Money Laundering (AML) – Support the improvement of AML policies and procedures, ensuring effective detection and prevention of financial crime.
  • Automation – Identify opportunities to use automation and technology to enhance efficiency, reduce manual errors, and ensure regulatory tasks are completed accurately.
  • Whistleblowing, Conflicts, and Anti-Bribery & Corruption – Maintain and enhance frameworks for reporting concerns, managing conflicts of interest, and preventing bribery and corruption.
  • Regulatory Reporting – Prepare and submit regulatory reports accurately and on time.
  • Policy Governance – Develop, review, and maintain compliance policies and procedures, ensuring they remain up-to-date with evolving regulations.

Requirements

Essentials:

  • Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in compliance monitoring and reporting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex regulatory concepts clearly.
  • A proactive mindset with a strong sense of initiative, able to identify and address compliance risks before they escalate.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a compliance role within financial services, fintech, or a regulated industry.

Desirables:

  • Familiarity with financial promotions regulations and the review process for marketing materials.
  • Experience with whistleblowing, conflicts of interest, and anti-bribery and corruption frameworks.
  • Professional compliance qualification (ICA, CISI, or equivalent).
  • Experience working in a high-growth startup or scale-up environment.
