Working for an emergency service is rewarding but challenging too. Playing an integral role within external communications you’ll focus on creating compelling digital content day to day to engage our colleagues with key priorities and to celebrate what they do for patients across London.
This is a specialist role and the post holder will have experience of multimedia content and website content management. They will take a role in producing specialist audio visual content for campaigns and projects which are identified as supporting corporate objectives.This could be creating videos for the website or social media channels, producing video messages for staff, or taking photographs at scenes, patient reunions or at staff events.
The pace is fast so your resilience will enable you to respond to requests from a range colleagues and you’ll be ready to support the team during high profile events or incidents. Your familiarity with analytics will help us continually improve.
Main duties of the job- Building networks across the Service, you’ll advise and supporting content owners, training people where needed.
- With your excellent copywriting skills you’ll be a great storyteller, engaging colleagues with new developments, celebrations and milestones within the organization.
- Using Digital expertise to work with the Digital team and members of the Media team to create high quality videos and images appropriate for the Service’s social media channels to engage with patients, media and stakeholders.
- Your editorial and organisational skills will ensure that content on LAS channels is up to date, of the highest editorial standards and embodies the LAS brand.
- You can adapt your digital and technical skills to support Trust wide events and produce LASLive – a weekly livestream panel discussion with our Executive Team.
- Day-to-day running of our eight external digital channels, including coordinating the daily events and editorial planner, content creation, drafting materials, proof reading, community monitoring, alerting managers to any concerning posts and drafting required responses, and ensuring website pages are regularly reviewed and refreshed.

Person specification
Qualifications
Essential criteria- Educated to degree level in a communications related field or, possessing an equivalent level of knowledge and expertise
Experience
Essential criteria- Proven experience of using insight and analytics to improve content delivery and campaign effectiveness
- Proven specialist knowledge and ability in expert, high quality video production including pre and post production
- Experience in specialist audio/video production, multimedia design and content creation and social media
- Experience in news and feature writing for various channels
Knowledge and Skills
Essential criteria- Demonstrable and up-to-date experience of working in a fast paced, communications function
- Communicate effectively: The ability to speak confidently, articulately and persuasively and use specialist knowledge to advise on digital communications and digital approaches across a range of subject areas working with a range of audiences
- Understanding of media, PR / campaigns, digital, design ,media, staff recognition programmes and the close alignment with internal communications
- Experience of working with senior organisational leaders and developing relationships with a range of stakeholders, responding to queries and providing communications advice to deliver engaging content
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to communicate clearly and professionally with people at all levels including senior directors, verbally and in writing
