The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for an Early Career Teacher (ECT) to join a ‘Good’ inner-city secondary school in Central Birmingham. You will teach Computer Science at Key Stage 3 and 4, delivering engaging lessons that foster a strong understanding of programming, hardware, software, and the digital world.

The school boasts state-of-the-art ICT suites and provides excellent support through its induction programme, ensuring you receive the mentoring and guidance needed to thrive in your early years of teaching.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a degree in Computer Science or a related field, and QTS (or be on track to achieve it by September 2025)
  • Have a strong understanding of the Computer Science curriculum at Key Stage 3 and 4
  • Be enthusiastic about teaching technology and inspiring students to explore the world of computing
  • Demonstrate strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students with varying abilities
  • Be willing to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the growth of the department

  • Workload management strategies: Guidance on planning, marking, and balancing your workload for a healthy work-life balance

This induction programme ensures you receive all the support you need to succeed and grow as a Computer Science teacher.
