Do you want to join a friendly and dynamic team that supports the delivery of medical and dental education for the healthcare workforce?
We’re seeking an Education Programme Coordinator to provide a broad range of business and administrative support to Postgraduate Medical and Dental Education within the Workforce Training and Education (WT&E) team working in the Wessex Local Office, based in Southampton and covering Hampshire, Dorset and the Isle of Wight and Salisbury in the South East Region.
The post-holder will be a key member of the team whose overarching goal will be to support the delivery of an essential workforce programme. The role will primarily support the medical and dental training programmes at an exciting time to be involved in the changes that are happening in medical education nationally.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will work with the Education Programme Manager and colleagues in the team to support the operational delivery of medical and dental education programmes including national recruitment, programme management, and to implement successful delivery of assessments, Annual Review of Competency Progression (ARCP), rotations (training placements) Out of Programme (OOP), Inter Deanery Transfers (IDT) Less than Full Time Training (LTFT) throughout a learner's journey.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) and the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels, both internal and external. In addition, they must have excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy in all work.
This is a fast-paced operational role with a requirement to be in our Southampton office two days a week.

Qualifications
Essential criteria- Equivalent experience to an HNC level qualification or the HNC qualification
- Evidence of commitment to personal development
- Certificate in Personnel Practice
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria- Experience of working as a team with others of varying seniority with proven ability of working in a team environment and delivering team objectives.
- Excellent general office administration skills.
- Experience of revewing and developing administrative processes and procedures.
- Proven experience of drafting and producing minutes and meeting notes.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, meet tight deadlines and prioritise workload in a challenging and demanding environment as well as the ability to remain calm in pressurised situations – e.g. periods of high recruitment activity, challenging telephone conversations with senior medical colleagues and medical trainees or dealing with urgent requests.
- Previous experience in the NHS in a similar administrative role, preferably within an HR environment desirable.
Skills and Abilities
Essential criteria- Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy in all work.
- Ability to maintain concentration and meet objectives in a working environment where interruptions are frequent
- Able to work without direct supervision
- Excellent key board and word processing skills and ability to manipulate data on spreadsheets (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Access skills).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Familiarity with TIS (Trainee Information System) or other large databases/HR and/or recruitment information systems
