Project Engineer

We are seeking a dedicated Project Engineer to join our Operations team at our Ilkley office. Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager, the Project Engineer will play a key role in ensuring successful project delivery, from planning through to execution, with a focus on minimizing downtime and enhancing the customer experience during onboarding and change management processes.

This position demands strong technical acumen, effective communication skills, and a customer-centric approach.

Key responsibilities of this role:

  • Project Delivery: Lead the planning and execution of installation projects, ensuring on-time delivery and a seamless experience for customers in line with the Project Management team.
  • Knowledge Transfer: Facilitate knowledge sharing with customers to enable them to effectively manage the services provided.
  • Installation Planning: Prepare and plan for customized installations to meet specific customer requirements.
  • Service Provisioning: Oversee the provisioning of new customer circuits firewalls and other products from Talk Straight, ensuring that all services are operational and meet quality standards.
  • Service Migrations: Technically coordinate and execute migrations of customer services across available platforms with minimal disruption.
  • System Analysis: Conduct detailed analysis of systems and circuits, providing insightful reports to guide decision-making.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate and communicate effectively with key stakeholders to resolve any project-related issues promptly.

Working Environment

We offer hybrid working to promote a healthy work/life balance, working remotely and attending our Ilkley office 3 days per week. Therefore you will need to be within a reasonable commute of this office.

Requirements
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and team members at all levels.
  • Good organisational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Good knowledge of networking, security, VoIP and broadband technologies.
  • Knowledge of web filtering technologies.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft technologies.
  • Basic understanding of routing protocols.
  • Good understanding of DNS.
  • Experience of firewall configuration and supporting Fortinet technologies.
  • NSE4 or above (preferred)
