Trainee Education Mental Health Practitioner

Compass Be is excited to expand our Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) in Barnsley and are looking for passionate individuals to join us as Trainee Education Mental Health Practitioners (TEMHPs)! In this role, youll make a real difference by providing short-term, low-intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) based interventions to children and young people (ages 5-19).
You'll support those dealing with anxiety, low mood, challenging behaviours, family and peer relationship difficulties, emotional regulation, and transition issuesall within educational settings. Your journey with us includes completing a 12-month Post Graduate Diploma in Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing Studies at Sheffield University.
This training will equip you with the skills to deliver meaningful support, empowering young people to overcome lifes emotional challenges. Starting on a Compass Grade salary (equivalent to NHS AFC Band 4), youll advance to a Band 5 level upon successful completion of your course and qualification, allowing you to further your career while making a lasting impact on young lives.
