A unique vacancy has arisen for a dynamic Healthcare Assistant to join Ripley Medical Centre.
You will be required to undertake various patient clinical procedures in order to assist registered clinicians to deliver agreed pathways as part of the ongoing Primary Care agenda.
The role of the HCA is pivotal to delivering excellence in Primary Care and the successful candidate is expected to be supported in delivering hands on care to our patients under the supervision of registered practitioners, whilst undertaking an expanded scope of duties.

To maintain standards, ensuring quality of patient care through the development of a range of knowledge & competencies to support Clinicians.
To support and ensure the effective seamless flow of patients through the Practice.
Responsibility for a specific area of work that is facilitated by the Practice Lead Nurse.
To assist Clinicians with the provision of a high standard of individualised patient care and treatments where appropriate and work as an effective multi-disciplinary team member of the General Practice Team.
To carry out individual patient care without direct supervision, under the direction of the clinicians-in-charge.
Understands and observes appropriate standards of confidentiality.
At all times to behave and act in a way appropriate to and in accordance with “The DCHS Way”.
Ripley Medical Centre is a small practice with approx 6,000 patients. The practice is part of DerbyshireCommunityHealth Service NHS FT with a Practice Manager, Clinical Lead and established clinical and admin teams to ensure the day to day smooth running of the practice.

Under the supervision of qualified nursing staff:- To undertake various patient clinical procedures in order to assist registered clinicians to deliver agreed pathways.
- Advise patients on healthcare, health promotion and illness prevention.
- To provide care and assistance in such a manner that the service users individuality, dignity and privacy are respected where this does not compromise safety.
- To provide care in accordance with individual service users care plans.
- To promptly report all observed changes in service users conditions, accidents, incidents and other important information to Clinician in Charge and take action as directed.
- To assist qualified staff in maintaining the safety and wellbeing of staff, service users and visitors in accordance with the Health and Safety Policy.
- To maintain a high standard of personal behaviour and maintain professional relationships with service users, their families and staff team members.
- To complete documentation as appropriate and directed by the Clinician in Charge.
- To be a lead in Infection, Prevention and Control for the Practice, maintaining room cleaning schedules with the wider team, stock ordering and monitoring where appropriate.
- To monitor fridge temperatures daily and maintain a robust audit process
- To Lead and participate in various audits appropriate to the HCA role.
