Personal Assistant Job Description

Location Bradford on AvonHours 2.5 hours per day (Monday to Friday (mostly term time)
Payrate £12.00 per hour
Holiday 5.6 weeks per year including bank holidays (pro rata for part time)
Driving Licence Essential
DBS Check Yes (If required will be funded by the employer)
A bit about me:We are looking for a part time carer with extensive experience working with disable children. Our 9 year old daughter has a very rare neurological condition and she suffers from epilepsy. Our daughter is a very friendly, delightful girl who enjoys music and going for quiet walks.
She is non verbal but very relational and is curious about new people. She is also very sensitive and sometimes needs emotional reassurance and comforting.
About the role:Our daughter needs to be spoon fed and has some mobility but needs complete assistance in dressing, changing position and other daily activities. She is home schooled and part of her care would also include some therapeutic and educational activities to aid her development.
We will explain more about what this entails on application/interview.
The kind of person I am looking for:Must be confident and experienced in working with disabilities and epilepsy. Be able to act efficiently and calmly in an emergency and call 999 if necessary. Naturally warm and caring person, who understands the importance of bonding and attachment.
Responsible, reliable and trustworthy. Excellent time keeping. Good communication and social skills. Be willing to learn and have the ability to work on your own initiative.
