Job overview
To provide a comprehensive, holistic rehabilitation programme for amputees attending Roehampton Rehabilitation Centre as out-patients, or as in-patients in the Douglas Bader Unit at Queen Marys Hospital.
To give expert advice to the prosthetic and medical clinics within the centre, other physiotherapists and members of the Multidisciplinary Team including students.
To organise and carry out local and national educational programmes and courses for physiotherapist and other members of the Multidisciplinary Team including students.

Main duties of the job
Be responsible for the provision of expert physiotherapy input for the rehabilitation of all amputees referred to the service. This will include primary amputees and those with multiple limb loss, who are empowered through specialist physiotherapy intervention to achieve the optimum level of independence and mobility whether they use an artificial limb.
This will involve working collaboratively with the Multidisciplinary Team at the centre and be a source of expert advice to patients, carers and other clinicians involved in the patients' care.
To assist in the organisation and delivery of educational programmes in this speciality.

Qualifications
Essential criteria- • Diploma / Degree in Physiotherapy
- • Registered with Health Professions Council
- • Evidence of relevant in depth postgraduate study or qualification to a level equivalent to a Masters where this is available
- • Clinical educators course
Experience
Essential criteria- • Extensive experience in senior physio role, including experience in a relevant clinical area
- • Experience of developing others through CPD / PDP/ clinical supervision
- • Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team and awareness of the issues that accompany this.
Skills
Essential criteria- • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- • Ability to facilitate learning in others
- • Drive and enthusiasm for clinical excellence using evidence based practice and clinical networks
Knowledge
Essential criteria- • In depth knowledge of this clinical area of amputee rehabilitation management
