Machine Operator and Dispatch Operator
We are looking to employ a Machine and dispatch operator at our growing digital label printing business in Wellington, Somerset.
As an operator you will play a crucial role in our production process, helping us to create and dispatch labels for a range of businesses in food and drink, cosmetics, manufacturing and more.
This varied role will involve the use of leading converting technology to produce labels with a range of finishes and embellishments, helping to ensure that the labels are delivered on-time and ensuring the labels meet the customers’ expectations.Across all aspects of this role, you will work alongside our fantastic team, who provide our customers with high levels of quality and support that help their businesses to grow.
Job description
As a conversion operator you will:
- Use leading conversion machines to apply a range of finishes to printed labels including varnishes, foiling, embossing and foiling.
- Follow key job specifications to ensure labels meet customer needs and are converted to deadline.
- Carry out maintenance and servicing of conversion machines
As a Dispatch operator, you'll have a number of key roles to play in our fast-paced environment. This includes:
- Ensuring that our customers receive quality products, to their specifications and on-time. Carry out quality control checks, the efficient finishing and packing of the scheduled work and communicating with customers on the delivery status of their labels.
- Stock and tooling management, supporting the other departments to ensure that they have the correct stock and tools required.
- Handling goods in, managing stock levels and restocking areas as required.
- Waste management and unit tidiness. Ensuring that the unit is kept clear of any waste, trip and slip hazards. Storing the waste in the correct manner and recording the weekly waste collection.
- This role starts at £11.65 an hour, moving to £12 an hour on completion of a 3-month probationary period.
- We offer 29 days holiday (including back holidays). This increases to a maximum of 31 days based on time at the company.
About you/Personal specification
We are looking for a candidate that:
- Is a confident communicator who likes to work as part of a team
- Has worked in manufacturing. Print experience is desirable, but we will always consider applicants with transferable skills.
- Has an understanding of efficiency, productivity and quality procedures
- Has an eye for detail and accuracy
- Has a desire to become a key member of a successful team and ambition to develop a career in the printing industry
