About the role

We are looking for a proactive and experienced Logistics Coordinator to join our Highways – Production Hub team. The Logistics Coordinator will oversee and manage the daily coordination of logistics resource streams on a project, working closely with other coordinators to ensure smooth operations.

This includes managing materials, plant, haulage, site vehicles, storage, delivery, labour, facilities, and security. Your role will be key in maintaining and improving key supply chain relationships to ensure work is completed efficiently. You will also support the implementation of a digital approach to logistics delivery.

As part of this role, you'll collaborate across various project disciplines, including Operations, HSES, Quality, Design & Engineering, Planning, Commercial, Procurement, and Site Support, ensuring the safe, controlled, and timely coordination of resources to meet project targets.

What you'll be doing

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a sub-section of logistics resource streams, acting as the go-to person for these areas.
  • Support the Logistics Manager with daily project operations, highlighting challenges, concerns, and successes.
  • Identify risks and opportunities within the logistics resource streams and actively address them.
  • Uphold HSES standards by maintaining a focus on Zero Harm and engaging with supply chain partners for continuous safety improvement.
  • Oversee the movement of resources to and from the site, ensuring accurate digital record-keeping.
  • Ensure that company standards, procedures, and processes are consistently followed.
  • Extract resource requirements from construction programmes, working closely with the Operations team to ensure alignment with the supply chain.
  • Attend relevant meetings to keep all stakeholders informed about logistics resource streams.
  • Provide data and insights to Operations, Commercial, Site Support, and Finance teams to improve project outcomes.
  • Ensure effective communication and coordination with the site team and other operational teams.

Who we're looking for

Essential Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience or knowledge of logistics and supply chain activities within the construction industry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 Suite, particularly Excel, and a willingness to learn and operate new digital systems.
  • Strong communication skills, able to engage effectively with different audiences.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills to deliver operational efficiency and excellence.
  • Experience with data management and record-keeping to maintain accurate records.

Desirable Qualifications & Skills:

  • Previous experience in a construction environment.
  • Valid CSCS card.
  • Supply Chain Management experience, including customer and supplier relationship management.
