Join our dedicated team as an SpLD Support Tutor & Assessor, responsible for providing specialist tuition and support in the area of Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD), including dyslexia. This role is pivotal in enhancing the educational experience and success of students with SpLD.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Work within the Specialist Support team to provide tuition, support, and guidance for students with SpLD.
- Assess learning support needs and provide specialist advice and tuition to students, particularly those with dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD, ASD, or Asperger’s Syndrome.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with staff and students to promote an effective quality support service.
- Act as a Lead Professional in the coordination and implementation of the EHCP review process, maintaining contact with parents/carers, local authorities, education providers, and other relevant agencies.
- Assist and support managers in the identification and allocation of resources for learners with dyslexia/SpLD.
- Screen and assess students using a variety of tools, create learning support plans, and compile specialist tutor reports as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Must hold a qualification at Level 7 that allows assessment for exam access arrangements.
- Experience in supporting learners with SpLD, including dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD, ASD, or Asperger’s Syndrome.
- Strong ability to establish professional working relationships with a wide range of individuals, including staff, students, and external agencies.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Knowledge of current legislation and practices related to SpLD and EHCP processes.
