Welfare Caseworker / Benefits Adviser
We are proud to be partnering with a great national charity in their search for a temporary Welfare Caseworker/ Benefits Adviser. This charity offers mental health and wellbeing support, employment support, housing advice and financial help to transform the lives of people of an occupational community.
This is a full time (37.5 hours per week), temporary role, running for 6 months in the first instance. They offer hybrid working, with 1 day on site in SE1.
In this role, you will manage a multiple cases, advising beneficiaries on what state support they are eligible for, before getting grants from the charity. In depth knowledge of the state welfare benefits system and other support agencies is essential.You will assess your beneficiaries’ financial and social needs, and make decisions regarding the appropriate course of action.
To be considered for this role you will have at least 3 years of experience working in a similar capacity, dealing with those in need with confidentiality and sensitivity. You will need excellent interpersonal skills as you will often be dealing with people in distress.You will also need general IT skills (MS Office), accuracy in maintenance of all records and great attention to detail.
