Archbishop Beck Catholic College is an Archdiocesan school and we pride ourselves on our strong Catholic ethos. We are based in North Liverpool and have 1200 students on roll across year groups 7 - 13. The College is heavily over-subscribed and very well respected by the local community.
In our recent Ofsted inspection in November 2021, we were judged ‘Good’ in all aspects.

Governors are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic teacher of IT/Computing to join our dedicated team.
We are a thriving department with a proven track record of success both at GCSE and ‘A’ level. We have a significant number of students opting to study IT at ‘A’ level which is testament to the students’ enjoyment of the subject in KS3 and KS4.
This role offers the opportunity to join a team of practitioners who always seek the highest standards. The successful candidate must share this vision as well having a desire to share their love of IT and Computing.
Following our recent ’Good’ at Ofsted, the position will allow the successful candidate to join a team of practitioners with a proven record of improvement and success. We have a deep understanding of developing and deepening IT and Computing skills and knowledge in order to help students progress.

JOB PURPOSE:
To ensure that all students attending lessons in your subject have an enjoyable experience that allows them to make progress within your area.
Learning and Teaching- Plan work in line with curriculum team schemes for learning, examination syllabuses and National Curriculum programmes of study using the correct departmental documentation and procedures.
- Work effectively with all support staff e.g. learning mentors and teaching assistants who are attached to individuals or teaching groups.
- Find out what students already know and understand in order to inform planning and enable progression.
- Set clear and appropriate learning objectives and outcomes, explain them at the start of lessons, refer to them throughout and review them at the end involving students throughout.
- Actively pass on knowledge and understanding of the key concepts and processes of the curriculum.
- Use creativity, imagination and a variety of teaching styles to motivate, challenge and support all students.
- Reward students for their effort and achievement in line with whole college and departmental policies.
- Have high expectations of all students and show a commitment to every student’s success.
- Follow whole college and departmental procedures for behaviour for learning.
- Maintain records of lesson planning and review in line with departmental policy.
- Help students to evaluate their own work and that of others and involve them in setting future learning objectives.
- Mark, monitor and return work, in line with whole college and departmental policy, giving useful oral and written feedback and setting future targets for improvement.
- Complete clear and meaningful reports in line with whole college and departmental guidelines.
- Meet all report deadlines within the whole college reporting cycle.
- Be familiar with SEN Code of practice and keep appropriate records.
- Undertake the role of a form tutor as and when required, following whole college guidance on the role of the progress tutor
- Monitor the social and academic progress of students in the tutor group.
- Liaise with the Progress manager regarding the social and academic progress of students in the tutor group.
- Promote good attendance and punctuality.
- Attend all Year Team meetings.
- Support the Catholic Ethos of the college.
- Positively promote the value of your subject to the whole college community.
- Treat all members of the college community, colleagues and students, with respect and consideration.
- Set a good example to students in terms of appropriate dress, standards of punctuality and attendance.
- Promote the aims of the college by attendance at and participation in events such as open evenings, options evenings etc as and when required.
- Take responsibility for your own professional development and participate in staff training when provided.
- Follow all whole college and departmental policies.
- Attend all meetings as appropriate to your responsibilities.
- Undertake duties as described in whole college and departmental policies.
- Ensure that all deadlines are met as published in the college calendar.
- Undertake professional duties which may be reasonably required by senior leadership.
- Always take responsibility for matters relating to Health and Safety.
