Mechanical Engineer (Placement 6 Months)

Our Engineering team comprises a multi-disciplined mixture of product experts, professional design engineers, and the very best young graduates developing in our Engineering Council, IMechE, IET accredited environment.
To allow us to continue to grow and improve we offer one position as a Placement Student within our engineering office.
What we offer:
Our team provide bespoke and creative solutions to a wide range of high-integrity handling and drive problems for the most demanding environments. As a placement student you will integrate into this engineering team and report directly to the Head of Product Development. Your daily work may be varied so as to meet the demands of the business, however past placement student projects have included:
- Developing novel non-destructive testing techniques for composite materials
- Modelling and analysis of legacy aircraft arresting gear
- Design of electric servo winches
- Mathematical modelling of radial piston pumps for submarine applications
You will also be expected to work closely with other departments including production, manufacturing, test, project management and procurement, as your work demands.
Our Engineering department benefits from continued investment in training and equipment and offers some of the latest engineering tools including;- 3D solid modelling: Creo Parametric 4.0, with Windchill PDM system
- Stress Analysis: FEA (Simulate), ANSYS
- Mathematical Modelling: MathCad, Simulink, LabVIEW, ANSYS
