What skills and experience we're looking for

We would like to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to work in our new SEMH/Autism unit.

School hours 8.30 am to 3.35 pm with 30 mins for lunch, 5 days a week. This post is term-time only to start as soon as possible. Hours per week - 32 hours and 55 minutes.

Our school is a positive place for both children and adults - where enjoyment of learning underpins all we do.

If you are someone who:

  • is keen to help children succeed with learning
  • is prepared to work 1:1 with pupils with Special Educational Needs
  • is able to use their own initiative with tasks when required
  • has a good level of competency with reading, writing and maths, as well as use a computer for a range of tasks
  • wants to extend their own skills
  • has a friendly open nature, who considers the needs of others within the team and is always willing to help
  • has some experience of working in a school environment

The new unit will cater for small classes of children with Autism/Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. You will work closely with teachers and the Unit Lead whilst still being part of the Kennet Valley Team.
