Job Profile
Our client a Civil Engineering Contractor based in West Sussex are looking for a Skilled Operative , to work on Design projects from climate adaptation and infrastructure projects. The Skilled Operative will receive a generous salary up to £33k( paid per hour based on a 45 hour week), company bonus, Private Healthcare and fantastic career development
The Skilled Operative will work alongside a Site Foreman on projects across Brighton, Gatwick and Eastbourne and be responsible for the completion of tasks on site under the supervision of the Site Foreman, ensuring the works are completed without harm to people, environment and targeting zero defects.
Skilled Operative Job Overview- Plant & Equipment: Operate, maintain, and return tools/equipment in good condition.
- Health & Safety: Ensure safe working practices, wear appropriate PPE, and follow method statements and risk assessments.
- Site Standards: Keep work areas clean, tidy, and secure, ensuring proper material storage and waste management.
Tasks & Operations:
- Deliver civil-based works (e.g., concrete/reinforcement, groundworks, pipe laying).
- Perform tasks efficiently and within your skill level, under Site Foreman's guidance.
- Work effectively as part of a team, supervising operatives when required.
Reporting & Communication:
- Highlight errors, security, or site concerns to the Site Foreman.
- Notify Foreman/HR of any training needs or ticket renewals.
- Flexibility: Be adaptable and willing to support other duties or sites as needed.
- Experience in concrete/reinforcement, groundworks, Drainage and pipe laying
- Experience of pilling and buried service
- First Aid
- CPCS Excavator 360°
- CSCS Card
- SMSTS would be advantageous
- General Op quals
- CPCS Dumper, Roller, CAT & GENNY, Abrasive Wheels, Vehicle Marshall
- Full driving licence
- Salary up to £33,000 (Paid hourly)
