SEN Teaching Assistant

- Hours: 08:15 AM to 3:30 PM

Day to Day of the Role:
- Work under the guidance of teaching/senior staff within an agreed system of supervision to implement work programmes and enable access to learning for individuals or groups, both in and out of the classroom.
- Plan and administer intervention work with children in small groups or on a 1:2:1 basis as required.
- Assist the teacher in the whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources.
- Support students in taking responsibility for their behaviour and understanding the consequences of their actions.
- Help instil values of tolerance and respect in students towards themselves and others.
- Collaborate with parents, carers, and other agencies to support each student’s positive choices and changes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience working with children with SEMH needs or in a similar setting.
- Understanding of the challenges faced by students with disrupted education and behavioural issues.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and under the guidance of teaching staff.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a commitment to student development and education.
