Reporting to the Head of Strategic Projects, the role involves working in a team of specialists to deliver key responsibilities. The procurement role is key to achieving the procurement programme, driving cost savings and providing the right platform to drive continuous improvement and innovation through the supply chain to deliver value.The procurement specialist will play a key role in delivering the procurement programme.
Your new role- Proven experience in procurement and supply chain management, with significant experience in developing and executing strategic high value highly complex transformational procurement projects. Knowledge of placing construction contracts under NEC essential.
- Proven track record of developing and managing strategic supplier relationships and partnerships.
- Strong understanding of procurement regulations and compliance requirements, with experience in ensuring adherence to policies and standards.
- Analytical and data-driven with a proven track record of using data to inform strategic decisions, optimize processes, and identify opportunities for innovation.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, operations and IT security.
- Provide regular reporting on progress against programme milestones and procurement objectives.
- Coordinate internal stakeholders and vendors throughout the procurement process.
- Communicate updates and responsibilities to keep all stakeholders on track.
- Use the DCC e-sourcing portal to manage the tender submission process.
- Deliver savings, establish contracts, and manage risk areas.
- Evaluate bids, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with procurement policies.
- Provide regular updates and collaborate with the existing procurement team.
- Enthusiastic about putting customers first every day.
- Good understanding of market dynamics, supply chain management, and procurement processes, with the ability to drive cost savings, negotiate favorable terms, and manage risks.
- Excellent analytical skills to identify improvement opportunities and devise solutions.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- The ability to think strategically and translate business objectives into actionable procurement strategies.
- Ability to adapt to changing business environments and demonstrate resilience in the face of challenges.
