Head of Nursing and In-Patient Services
Main responsibilities: To oversee the operational and clinical management of the In-Patient Unit (IPU) and services with nursing leadership of the development of specialist palliative clinical nursing practice. To support the strategic leadership of the Hospice for the IPU and the nursing workforce in collaboration with peers across community services, both for now, and for future need To ensure an integrated approach to the delivery and development of palliative care nursing expertise both within the Hospice and externally, engaging with senior colleagues across internal disciplines and external agencies to identify and develop the scope for future evidence-based practice.
The post holder will support nurses to develop and manage nursing services, and the wider Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) reaching out to work in a more efficient and integrated way making the best use of resources, with clinical colleagues in the NHS and other stakeholders in end-of-life care.The post holder will ensure a continuous approach to learning, whilst driving a just culture on the IPU, and will work closely with the Head of Quality and Assurance. The post holder will ensure that the clinical team have the skills and competencies to respond to the changing needs of people with specialist palliative care needs The post holder will work with patients and families to ensure their views are heard and acted upon.
The postholder will be responsible for the quality of the services provided within the IPU.
