We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic team player with proven admin skills. You need to be flexible and reliable to provide efficient and effective Admin duties supporting the multi-disciplinary team in Integrated Geriatric & Stroke Medicine.We are seeking confident individuals with excellent communication skills and a professional, tactful and diplomatic approach to work within our busy department.
This is a demanding but interesting and varied role. The successful candidate must possess the ability to work as part of a team and the initiative to work unsupervised when necessary. An understanding of confidentiality is essential as well as a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.You must be educated to a GCSE grade C or above in English and Maths (or equivalent experience) and have experience working in an admin environment.
Previous hospital experience including knowledge of Lorenzo would be desirable. Effective communication skills and excellent keyboard skills are also essential. Full training for this post will be provided.
The post will predominantly be at the Northern General Hospital but you may on occasion be asked to cover on our wards at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital therefore a flexible approach to working is required.
Main duties of the job
To support the Nursing and Medical teams with the provision of a comprehensive administration service.- Working Monday - Friday 7am - 3pm
- Maintain the Patient Administration and provide admin support to the wards, nursing staff and managers.

Qualifications
Essential criteria- GCSE at Grade C/4 in English and Maths (or equivalent qualifications) or equivalent experience
- NVQ Level II in Business Administration / Customer Service / IT
Experience
Essential criteria- Experience of working within an office environment
- Experience of working in a public facing role.
- Relevant experience within the NHS
Skills
Essential criteria- Knowledge of / experience of using information and/or customer service systems.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages including Outlook, Excel and Word.
- Previous experience Infoflex / 59R Software
- Previous experience of PAS / Infoflex / SystmOne (area specific software)
