Main duties of the job
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Advice: provide financial support and assistance to the senior financial advisor, assisting in the delivery of a financial advisory service to the trust.
  • Complex Problem Resolution: Investigate and advise on complex business management issues. Your insights will be crucial in enhancing financial awareness, improving performance, and maintaining the integrity and business focus of Service Developments. ? Financial Performance: Strive for continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance financial performance. Your role is pivotal in driving efficiency and effectiveness in financial operations.
  • Expertise: Leverage your financial acumen to monitor, develop and improve the procedures and processes within the team and ensure that value is consistently added. ? Collaboration: Work hand-in-hand with stakeholders across the ICS and one LSC Finance to ensure a unified and holistic approach to financial management, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
  • Relationship Building: To actively develop internal relationships and work with budget holders and stakeholder departments across the trust to help deliver productivity and efficiency programmes.
  • Financial Management: Effectively monitor and maintain the productivity and efficiency plan & financial ledger, supporting the achievement of targets for Directorates and the Trust.
  • Ideas: Support the identification of efficiency schemes within the division to ensure the best value for money is achieved at all times.
  • Team: Support and work across all areas of financial management, fostering an efficient and timely service. Support staff development and contribute to the broader goals of the Trust.
  • Performance Reporting: Deliver complex reports on financial performance ensuring timely and accurate information.

Qualifications & Education

Essential criteria
  • CCAB Foundation Level / AAT Technician Level / HNC/equivalent degree providing exemptions or equivalent work based experience.
Desirable criteria
  • Actively studying towards & committed to completion of CCAB qualification.

Knowledge & Experience

Essential criteria
  • Detailed Understanding of Accounting Procedures
  • Evidence of a sound knowledge of NHS Finance
  • Proven track record of costing methodologies
Desirable criteria
  • Proven track record of working on organisational project teams.

  • Please note that the salary advertised is for full time hours. If this post is less than 37.5 hours per week, the salary will be pro-rata. For posts on Agenda for Change pay-scales, new entrants to the NHS will normally commence on the first pay point of the relevant band.

Disclosure and Barring Scheme (DBS)

If the role you are applying for is identified as either controlled or regulated activity as defined in in the Safeguarding vulnerable Groups Act (2006) any offer of employment is provisional upon a satisfactory DBS check being obtained.

The healthcare sector is exempted from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.

In line with other NHS organisations in the North West Region, the Trust is now passing the charge for undertaking a DBS check on to candidates in the event they are successfully appointed into the post for which they have applied. Candidates can choose whether to pay this over 1-3 months as a deduction from the monthly salary.

However, if you are applying for a post as a BANK worker, the payment must be made in full at the time of employment checks. By applying for this vacancy you are agreeing to this undertaking in the event you are successfully appointed.

The cost of an Enhanced Disclosure will be £55.38 and for a Standard Disclosure will be £27.38.

This cost is not applicable for a Volunteer post
