My client focuses on searching air freight, sea freight & road freight solutions, which are both cost effective & time sensitive.
Job Description
As a European Road Freight Operator you will report in to the Freight Supervisor, in Derbyshire, on a daily basis. You will be responsible for the following areas for responsibility:
• Preparing road freight pricing & customer quotations - Informing about the freight prices, port charges, cost of special documents, insurance prices as well as prices for handling the goods
• Organising transport through third party transit means - such as full loads, part loads, courier and dedicated transport.
• Providing valid insurance for the vehicles - trucks and trailers
• Providing appropriate transportation means with adequate load capacity
• Handling customs entries and arranging billings for VAT/Duties
• Ensuring, booking and conducting customs clearance.
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate will have an expansive background in the freight forwarding industry with a bias towards either road freight. The ideal European Road Freight Operator will have the following skills and experience:
• 2+ year's experience in freight forwarding in either road or air freight
• Experience of pricing, quotation and planning customer deliveries across road, air & sea freight.
• Desirable experience of customs compliance
• Excellent customer service experience
• Knowledge of INCOTerms is advantageous
• Commutable to Derby and Derbyshire
