Chelmsford - Drama and Theatre Technician

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, experienced and talented Drama and Theatre Technician to join our Performing Arts Department on a temporary basis.
The Drama and Theatre Technician is responsible for the logistical planning and technical oversight of Felsted’s Performing Arts Facilities and other venues within the School and ensuring that school productions, drama, Dance and Music provision, as well as school events, are delivered at the highest level of quality.The Drama and Theatre Technician ensures that events, conferences and presentations are suitably resourced and delivered.
Felsted hosts over 40 productions/events per year and hosts a variety of conferences, ranging from LAMDA Performance Evenings to large scale productions. Recent productions have included ‘Romeo & Juliet, ‘Sister Act’ and ‘Oliver’. The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience in scenic construction, costume, stage management (including props), lighting, sound (digital, analogue and live), AV (filming, editing, live streaming) and be comfortable working at height.A degree qualification (or equivalent) in stage design/construction and/or stage management, with good working knowledge of sound and light operation would be desirable. It is desirable that the successful candidate holds an Enhanced DBS with Children’s Barred List check that is registered with the DBS Update Service.
